Brenda Norriega-Flores, Ph.D.

Program Director of the Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership (MAML)

Boston College, Clough School of Theology

Brenda Noriega-flores holds a Ph.D. in Theology and Education from Boston College’s Clough School of Theology and Ministry (CSTM). Her research examines the intersections of theology, education, and everyday spirituality, with particular attention to everyday mysticism, active contemplation, embodiment, and the lived faith of young people in culturally diverse contexts. Drawing on Latino/a theology, constructive–developmental theory, and Karl Rahner’s theology of grace, her work proposes pedagogies that cultivate mística cotidiana—everyday encounters with the divine that shape identity, practice, and community. Her academic interests include religious formation, theological anthropology, and the role of culture in shaping the religious imagination of young people (ages 13–35).

She currently serves as Program Director of the Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership (MAML) at CSTM, a professional degree designed to prepare faith-based nonprofit executives. In this role, she integrates her interest in everyday lived spirituality with questions of organizational leadership, formation, and capacity building, focusing on how leaders embody faith in decision-making, institutional culture, and the pursuit of justice.
