Dr. William Pickett is a Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Health Sciences at Brock University and an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University. He earned his Ph.D. in Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics from the University of Toronto.

An internationally recognized public health researcher, Dr. Pickett’s work focuses on the health of children and adolescents, with emphasis on injury prevention, rural and agricultural health, and the social and environmental determinants of well-being. He serves as co–Principal Investigator of the Canadian Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study — a national surveillance initiative conducted in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pickett has supervised numerous graduate students and collaborated extensively across Canada and internationally. His research has been supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and other major public health agencies. He remains dedicated to advancing evidence-based policy and education that promote safer, healthier environments for young people and rural populations.
