Brian Hehn

Brian Hehn serves as the Director of the Center for Congregational Song, the programmatic arm of The Hymn Society in the U.S. & Canada. In this role, he develops resources, programs, and initiatives designed to encourage, promote, and enliven congregational singing across diverse Christian traditions.

A versatile worship leader and educator, Brian brings a wealth of experience in hymnody, liturgical music, and congregational song. He has led worship in churches across the U.S. and Canada, combining traditional hymns, contemporary worship, and movement-based approaches such as drumming and dance.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Wingate University and a Master of Sacred Music from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University. He also serves as an adjunct professor of church music at Wingate University and is a published author on sacred music and congregational song.

Passionate about bridging scholarship and practice, Brian is committed to making congregational singing accessible, engaging, and meaningful for communities of all sizes. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his family.
